Livingston Chiropractic PC

About image
Livingston Chiropractic was established in 2001; Dr. Mark Livingston graduated from the elite Palmer College in Iowa, fountainhead of chiropractic since 1895, and received his bachelor's of science from the University of Utah in 1997 along with an associate's degree from Ricks College.
Native to Idaho, Doctor Livingston grew to appreciate chiropractic care while studying for his bachelor’s degree and playing football for the University of Utah. While being treated before games by the team chiropractor he learned that chiropractic treatment was an important part of overall health and has been proven to aid in many health conditions successfully; not just neck and back pain. Additionally, he has maintained state-of-the-art training in wellness and nutrition to support the extraordinary study of modern practices.

For the past two decades Dr. Livingston enjoys serving the community; he donates his time to local school athletic programs. He delights in seeing patients of all ages. He strives to truly listen to and work at treating the cause of health conditions – not just the symptoms. He aims to give the very best care possible to the clients that seek treatment.

Gentle Manipulations

The more common gentle spinal mobilization methods include: Activator method: The Activator is a hand-held, spring-loaded, manual tool that provides a low-force impulse. With the patient lying face down on the adjustment table, the chiropractor evaluates leg length, performs muscle testing, and adjusts the spine or extremity joints using the Activator tool. Cox Flexion-distraction: This technique involves a gentle adjustment that is designed to adjust vertebrae by applying a gentle stretch to the lower spine, usually in a series of repetitive slow movements similar to a rocking motion. Toggle Drop: Using crossed hands one on top of the other, the chiropractor presses down quickly and firmly on a particular area of the spine while a section of the drop table falls, taking advantage of gravity to apply the adjustment. The table has different sections that can be raised and dropped in accordance with the localization of the spinal adjustment.

Other types of Manipulation

Gonstead technique: This hands-on technique often involves adjusting the low back or pelvis as the patient lies on their side. Chiropractors use it to realign joints, reduce pain and stiffness, and increase mobility. Thompson, or drop table, technique: This involves a specially adapted table with padded platforms designed to drop a fraction of an inch when the chiropractor applies a quick thrust to make an adjustment. The subtle dropping motion, which patients feel as vibration, makes it very comfortable for most patients, Hayden says. It can be used for the spine or extremities. Diversified technique: Also employed to adjust the spine and extremities, this feels similar to the Gonstead technique. It’s considered the most widely used technique involving very precise hands-on thrusts aimed at restoring proper movement and alignment to the spine.

Therapies

Ultrasound - a form of deep heat therapy created by sound waves. The sound waves help reduce swelling, increase blood flow, and decrease pain, stiffness, and muscle spasms. Denneroll - Correct improper spinal curvature and enhance ability to treat conditions like thoracic kyphosis, abnormal cervical and lumbar lordosis, and more. Muscle Stimulation (E-stim) - The stimulation soothes the nerve endings, provides pain relief, and may also increase blood flow to speed up healing in injured tissues. Intersegmental traction - rollers move up and down the spine opening up the facet joints. Can be used to increase the blood flow throughout the spinal column to the discs, ligaments, and muscles. The procedure moves the discs to motivate the healing process by allowing vital nutrients to circulate through the injured area. The stretching of the muscles also provides relief from muscle spasms. Zone Technique (T-zone) - a chiropractic healing method which uses biomechanical and neurological input to restore health by improving the brain's communication with the six zones of the body.

In April of 2022 I was hit by a car. For 2 weeks I could hardly get off the couch. I was skeptical when my friend recommended Dr. Livingston, I had never been to a chiropractor. I suffered from TMJ, headaches, and hearing issues, balancing issues, I had issues just standing at the sink doing dishes. After completing my treatment plan, My balance has greatly improved, my shoulder pain is gone, I can hear much better! I would Recommend Dr. Livingston to any and everyone! He has improved my activities in daily living. I am very thankful to have him as my provider

Due to chronic health issues, my family and myself have seen around 30 doctors. Dr. Livingston is without question the best doctor I've ever met. His only goal is to make sure he does everything he can to help you.

I am a mother of 5. My youngest is 4 months old. Since giving birth she would cry nonstop, she wouldnt cuddle or form to my body to snuggle the way most babies do. She seemed so stiff. As a mother it was upsetting and I began to really worry. There is something is wrong when you cannot comfort your baby that has been fed and changed. I scheduled an appointment with her primary care provider, they found nothing wrong. I called again to her doctor and they insisted nothing was wrong. Finally, my mother-in-law contacted her chiropractor, Dr. Livingston. He told us that her spine and neck were out of alignment. She had instant relief after her adjustment
